The 3 Coolest Must-Have Vintage Toys In America

As babies and children, toys have greatly enhanced the skills that we need to learn, and have played a major role and impact in our childhood life. The origin of toys is from hundreds of years ago. Ancient toy makers created the earliest forms of toys from materials found in nature. Today, technological advancement had innovated the look and feel of modern toys in America, which is home to many toy manufacturers. Let’s revisit the 60s and 70s time line and find out the hottest vintage toys of those times.

1) Hugo the Man of a Thousand Faces (1975, by Kenner) Hugo is an amazing master of disguise. He is an upper body figure of a bald man which measures about 12 inches. The toy includes a blue denim shirt (that’s already worn by Hugo), a pair of eyebrows, eyeglasses, eyes, nose, scars, warts, chins, mask, mustache, head bandage, wig, and a lot of other disguise instruments. Relive those spy movies by wearing your own disguise. This toy is definitely a must-have.

2) Blaze the Ride On Horse (Mattel, 1961) This toy horse is for kids who love action and adventure. It makes a realistic horse gallop and a product of Mattel’s pull string technology – it neighs and talks when you pull the string attached to it. It says phrases like “I love hay”. It measures about 30 inches long and 40 inches tall, with a wide and long tubular steel frame as its base. Unlike other spring toy horses, the base ensures any rider will stay safe since the toy will not easily tip over.

3) Robot Commando (1960, by Ideal Toy Corporation) Robot Commando is battery operated and has a remote control wired to it. The remote control can be used either manually like any other remote controls you know, or through voice activation since it also has a microphone that’s built-in. it measures about 40 inches in height. It has the ability to throw balls and attack with missiles. It also can roll its eyeballs. This toy will definitely win you world war 3.

From their time in the 60s and 70s, up to now, these vintage toys have truly fascinated and attracted kids’ and adults’ attention. Today, these toys are still present and they are here to stay for many more decades to come.
