The Nokia N900 is one of the famous new smart phones. The N900 is Nokia’s newest smart phone, and compares very well to other phones that you can buy.
Key features of this mobile phone:
Look – The appearance of this phone is one of it’s big features, while a bit thick it manages to conceal a fast TI OMAP 3430 processor with ARM Cortex that runs at 600 MHz. While the telephone is bigger, it does not lack a stylish quality. The N900 is glossy, sleek, and jet black. The keypad slides into the front panel also the camera is situated at the rear. The camera’s Carl Zeiss lens is protected with a shutter. There’s a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top position also having the lock key.
Touchscreen – It has a 5 inch touchscreen offering a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The screen supports 16 million colors. The touchscreen is simple to use and rather reactive.
OS – The phone has the operating system Maemo 5 OS. This Linux based OS is open source and application developers and designers can add cool graphics and applications as they wish. More than one application are able to be used simultaneously. You can easily switch between applications. Applications which are currently running are displayed as small panes on the display panel. You can close applications by simply clicking a cross sign at the side of the window.
Interface User – Easy to use is the UI which is also convenient. The desktop displays all ions and applications. You may even include shortcuts to social networking sites similar to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Evernote etc. You also have the option of customizing with widgets. You can navigate the desktop with a push of your finger.
Internet – The internet experience on this latest Nokia phone is enhanced by GRPS, EDGE, HSCSD, WAP, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity. The phone uses Mozilla Firefox explorer for internet browsing. You will be able to zoom the web page by double tapping or swirling in circulation motion.
Navigation – The navigation software in this device is worth mentioning. The great N900 also includes a A-GPS, inbuilt compass and Ovi maps. You can download and store other maps if the Ovi maps don’t appeal to you.
Camera and video – This mobile phone has a 5 mega pixel camera with 3x zoom, geo tagging, auto focus etc. Crystal clear images are achieved through the combination of amazing resolution and clarity. You can also edit images as you wish. Video streaming is possible with WVGA 848×480 @ 25fps.
Media – Media features are cool in The Nokia N900. MP3, WAV, WMA and eAAC formats are supported by the audio system, while the WMV, Real Video, MP4, AV1 and XviD formats are supported by the video system.
Microsoft Office – The document viewer in this mobile phone allows users to view MS Office documents and PDF files.
Gaming – Nintendo SNES emulator can be downloaded onto this handset. The look and feel of the game makes it worth playing.
Other Features – Polyphonic ring tones, calculator, calendar, organizer, to-do list, Java, handsfree, voice memo, FM radio, vibrating alert and so on.
